This is the only post on this blog which is not written by me, but by one friend. He has no his own blog yeat and I found his text so incredibly beautiful and valuable… and also so very fitting into this Shaktipower blog: just see for yourself why.

Seeking Aphrodite
“Every man carries within him the eternal image of woman …
This image is fundamentally unconscious, an hereditary factor of primordial origin …
an imprint or ‘archetype’ of all the ancestral experiences of the female, a deposit, as it were, of all the impressions ever made by woman”
Carl Jung, Collected Works 17:338

All my life I have been haunted, and sometimes pursued by an angel archetype. I have wondered where this comes from? Encounters with this archetype have been the cause of experiences filled with otherworldly elation, wonder and beauty as well as incredible disaster, suffering and grief.
I have met this archetype in many forms throughout my life: it gave birth to me, I married it; I have loved it, lost and regained it several times over: it goes, but I know inside me it is never gone for long. It is too interested in me and I am too interested in it. So yes, it keeps returning in a slightly different shape, with minutely altered characteristics, but otherwise substantially the same. I see the cycles, I know the dramas, I have read the script, memorized the lines, and know the ending.
But my vision of it refuses to pass. This archetype resonates deeply inside me and all the efforts of wisdom, emotional pragmatism, and philosophic analysis have failed to eradicate this figure I seem to know so well, this tantalizing angel, this mischievous, eternally present Aphrodite, this vanishing and returning, fascinating and perplexing, milk skinned goddess figure who never allows me to fully forget her. Indeed, there are some deep patternings inside ourselves that elude rational analysis: “the heart has reasons of which reason itself is unaware”. Read the rest of this entry »

The new study on the Ideal (Russian) Woman has been done in Mai 2008 by the analytical center of SuperJob.ru. Representative number of Russian man gave thier opinion on the female ideal. Interestingly a strong differentiation has been found between a wife and a girlfriend. The grafic shows the results in Russian, I will make a short English summary here:
Intellect (important: she should not show it off, but manipulate indirectly, in order not to hurt the man): girlfriend – 46%, wife – 29%
Looks (important: form of fingers and toes, nails, skin, hair, breast form, figure, lips, eyes, nose): girlfriend – 38%, wife -21%
Femininity (important: “she must be a woman, and not an ashtray in trousers”): girlfriend -12%, wife -5%

Vodka, oil, weapons and… Russian women – these are the objects of Russian national pride. I wonder if there is any other country in this world where its women are considered the national objects of value?

Being able to watch Russian women in their home country and abroad for quite a time, and being a Russian woman myself I want to share with you some results of my long-time observations on the subject of their nature. But first let me make one very important statement:
Every country gives its special colour/flavour to its citizens, due to the geographical, historical, cultural or many other reasons. Thus, I personally consider the women of every country a special object of value, kind of a priceless commodity, the treasure.
So what is there the about Russian women?
Physical beauty
Face: Russian women are beautiful (at least this is what they hear all the time), they are aware of their beauty, they like to make themselves beautiful and they enjoy being beautiful. “Beauty will save the world” – is one of the most favorite Russian quotes apparently by F.Dostoevski.
The secret of that special beauty lays in quite a wild mixture of the East and West. Read the rest of this entry »

Isn´t it amazing that despite the hairdressers trying to cut the women`s hair short and do their wild experiments with girls` manes, the long hair is still alive and actually flourishing? Why do the beauties smiling at us from the ad posters in every corner of the world all have long hair?
I think in a way it is the same story as with marriage: even if somebody claims the institution to be dying out, there are some – probably subconscious – reasons for it to live forever! Long hair is known to be the first decoration of a woman. There should be definetly some connection with the collective subconsiousness of human race.
In the case of the long hair making any woman look beautiful and indeed attractive the secret is well known but well forgotten.

They are only two of them, my absolute ideals of feminine beauty.
The fist one – the “physical” beauty of Aishwarya Rai. She is absolute perfect in my eyes! And it is not by chance that she is Indian – as I wrote in my earlier post “The image of the primordial woman” - since my childhood I considered Indian beauty as the ultimate. But I am not alone. According to Clinique Beauty Study (9.800 women from 12 countries), women around the globe consider Indian and Italian ladies the most beautiful. Read the rest of this entry »

My post “Why do we long for beauty” was commented by “C”, a sweet young girl looking for support in her beauty pursuit.I promised to write a post on that topic and here I am – writing for Shaktipower after such a long time!..
Dear C., You say you are “… 5′4 and about 230 lbs. Though these may sound like alarming numbers I do not look as big as the digits, but compared to other girls my age I feel like a house. ” Lovely description! – I was so touched by your comment that it made me think about it and I came to some interesting conclusions.
1. First of all – where do you live? I bet it is one of these western countries that ruined the image of a woman, making her look like a man (skinny, skeleton-like, flat). If it is the case you are lucky indeed and will need a sound portion of self-esteem.
The fact is that in all traditional cultures a skinny woman has never been seen as beautiful! I must admit that I love looking at women who are bigger that “standard” sizes (but the proportions are still important) – as I find it really pleasing and beautiful. Read the rest of this entry »
